How to Start Your First Fire

Build a small fire of dry hardwood or natural lump charcoal in the center of the fire bowl, with the air vent open. Wipe a thin coat of high-heat oil over the plate and let it heat for about 25–30 minutes. Start with something simple, like burgers or vegetables, to learn the heat zones.
