Peach, plum, and cherry from California stone fruit orchards — mild, sweet smoke that changes the way everything tastes. Sourced from Central Valley farmers. Sun-dried. Nothing treated. Nothing artificial.

This is what the Hearth was built to burn.

Why Sudfire Exists

While living and playing professional basketball in the South of France, I experienced a different way of gathering.

Through my fiancée and her family, I discovered the brasero—a circular live-fire grill that kept the fire, food, cook, and guests in one shared space. People cooked together, talked longer, and stayed well after the meal was finished.

When I returned to California, I wanted to bring that experience home.

So I created Sudfire: a live-fire centerpiece built not only for cooking, but for the moments that happen around it.

— Darrin Person Jr., Founder

Real fires. Real people.

  • My husband has looked at every grill on the market. He came home from the Sudfire event and said 'I don't want anything else.' We reserved one that night."

    Kimberly J., Clovis CA

  • "I've cooked on a lot of surfaces. The Hearth is different. The heat zones let you run three things at once — high heat at the center, proteins in the middle, warming on the edge. It's legitimately versatile and it photographs like nothing else I've worked with."

    — Chef Ana., private chef, Fresno CA

  • I cooked a whole spread — steaks, corn, broccolini, flat bread — all at once on different zones. My family was floored. No one has ever said that about my cooking before."

Mike S., Hearth 39 owner, NorCal
